As a professional trade association, PCAM espouses a code of ethical working practices. Our members undertake to uphold and advocate these principles, so that together we may protect and promote them
throughout the industry.
Professional work should be paid for. Payment should be fair and prompt.
Copyright should be protected, its principles honoured and its value maintained.
All reasonable precautions should be taken to ensure third party copyrights are not infringed.
Industry-approved contracts and guidelines should form the basis of all contractual negotiations.
Moral rights should be observed, in that a composer should be afforded a credit wherever reasonably practicable.
The terms of a commission should be transparent,
clearly stated, and adhered to.
