Last year, members of the PCAM Committee recorded a series of podcasts at Wave Studios in London, examining topics that composers and producers of applied music interact with on a regular basis.
The nine different podcasts are aimed at those interested in creating music for advertisements, and feature PCAM Committee members answering questions frequently posed by both new and established composers in the industry as well as sharing their own personal experiences.
The latest podcast, on the topic of Gear & Technology, is available to stream below.
In this week’s podcast we ask, what do you need to get started? How has technology changed over the last few decades? What software do PCAM Committee members tend to use? What do people think advertising music sounds like? We also discuss the best way to achieve unique sounds and the advantages of live instruments over sample libraries.
The other podcasts will be posted at the rate one a week and will cover the following topics:
PCAM PODCAST 8: How Can I Get Into the Industry?
PCAM PODCAST 9: PCAM Contracts
Episodes one to seven of the podcast are available to download via iTunes here.
