Jonathan Goldstein, the Chair of PCAM from 2006 to 2011, died tragically on Sunday 25th August along with his wife Hannah and seven-month-old baby daughter Saskia when the light aircraft that he was piloting crashed in the Simplon Valley in Switzerland while en route to Italy on a family vacation.
His wife Hannah was a highly-acclaimed classical saxophonist who performed under her maiden name of Hannah Marcinowicz as a soloist at the BBC Proms and many other major concert venues, and also had a highly-successful teaching career.
They will be deeply missed by their family, friends and the many musicians that they mentored, taught and performed with.
In his time as PCAM’s Chair, Jonathan led the Society with dedication and distinction and was tireless in advocating for composers’ rights during many years on the PCAM Committee.
